Hora Feliz at El Faro

Losing myself in the happiness of Sangria.

Doha is great for its mid-week Happy Hours, the alcohol is at a reasonable price (aka normal price anywhere else in the world)!  Throw in some tapas and that makes it very hard to resist. I first stumbled upon El Faro when my friends took me out for my birthday, churros and sangria is a definite winner (well done guys, you know me well). Since then I’ve visited a number of times and jumped on any occasion to go, not only is it convenient location-wise, but there just isn’t anything quite like it. I’m sure people will be fed up of hearing me psyching them up for the patatas bravas by now..but seriously, the patatas!

El Faro at the Marsa Malaz Kempinski offers a great happy hour from 5 – 8  Sunday – Thursday. Perfect for a mid-week pick me up or after work drinks on a Thursday.  The sangria is unbelievably delicious (and SO much nicer than the one I tried to make at home). There’s a great variety of tapas available which are also on 2-4-1 offer. My personal favourites include: Patatas Bravas, Chicken Al Ajillo, Ensaladilla Rusa and of course Churros. I could eat 5 plates of those Churros, but that’s probably because I don’t understand the concept of portion control. Photo 27-08-2016, 15 27 55

It’s got a really chilled vibe which makes it the perfect place to catch up with friends; the music and amazing decor adds to the fantastic ambience. Even the decor in the bathrooms are impressive, I’d recommend having a pee(k) at them – never thought I’d write that sentence.
